There are so many sites on the net but I've heard some of them are dodgy.
Anyone got any reputable sites that they have used before?
I am in the UK and am looking for polyphonic ringtones - I know, I need to upgrade!

I don't know about polyphonic ringtones, but I download from a site called d-n-d.com. They do charge by a per month to 3 months to a year basis. I do a year that is only $15. And you can download unlimited ringtones. Not bad huh? Also you can upload any song to make a ringtone. Hope this helps.

Hello! I will tell you honestly to not go to any ringtone website. The reason why is because there will always try to get something off of you, this case is money. Get one free ringtone and pay for 2, 3, 4, or.... who knows! Don't do that.

I did a lot of research, and found a way to do it yourself. I don't know what kind of ringtone you want. Is it a song?, or is it a MIDI ringtone what you want? If a song is what you are looking for this is what you do:

1. Get a cable that will allow you to connect your cell phone with your computer. If both your computer and your phone are bluetooth enable, then you can go to the next level without the cable. In any case, you can purchase the cable at eBay for around $5.

2. Download BitPim (http://bitpim.sourceforge.net/). This awesome software will let your phone interact with your computer. With this software you can edit your songs and put them in your phone. It'll get the song, compress it and play it in your phone!

3. Enjoy!

I hope this helps somebody.

The best thing to do, to keep from getting ripped off is to go to the web site of your cell phone provider and they have links which they approve and even ringtones which they offer which are like free or either some are .99 per song depending on the difficulty of the song. These are the safest and best ways to get ringtones. Also MTV and CMT offer ringtones depending on which music you like. These are a little bit more expensive, but you can trust these proiders. Hope this helps.

what you have to watch out for on the free ringtone sites is that you are not entering into a contract with them,a lot say first ringtone free but if you look at the small print at the bottom of the page you are entering into a bit of a scam,it says we will send you one a week costing about £3.00.

Just so you know, watch out for this.

Someone above mentioned downloading your own ringtones,if you learn how to do that you can have virtually any tune on the planet.

Cant help you on that one though,my son in law does them for me,maybe best to ask another question.

I'm not sure if this website will work with your phone but it may be worth a try. There's a website called Three G For Free where all of the ring tones are completely free. But be aware that they don't have a huge library of songs and not all are the real song downloads. But check it out because there may be some things that you will like. Hopefully it'll work for you.

Usually i would trust the ones that advertise on tv like jamster however you have to join a club hence can cost alot it depnds what phone you have but if it has bluetooth and mp3 and you have the song you can try sending it via bluetooth. also if you use a brithish company it may be safer and you could report it to bbc watchdog of trading standards.

There is no 'best site' to download ringtones, they are all a rip-off. You would be better asking "how can I make my own ringtones?"

They are so easy to make and if you are paying for them, you are being ripped off.

Why don't you find a website that does WAV and MP3 files and find some sounds bites to use for ringtones... VERY CHEAP TOO!!!
