A few of us are heading to Warsaw next year for a few nights. What bars/clubs/restaurants are busy? Anysuggestions are gratefully appreciated!

PS Any ideas how much things cost would be good too, like drinks, meals, hotels.

I'm from Warsaw - Warszawa. I was born there. The web side
www.inyourpocket.com gives you some view on the best hotels or restaurant. The clothing/electronics is more expensive then here. Food in restaurants cost similar money like in US /maybe little less/. Entrainment is cheaper. I really love to go back. I never saw more beautiful girls then in Poland. Is very nice country.
I have an adult son there - maybe he can help you if he has some time and guide you. I know he is fun loving person.
He has web side but I have to ask him first what he is thinking about because I don't know you and you're not my friends.
Just is for your consideration.
If you have some question you can contact me.

Hey, I spent a day or two there a couple of years back, didn't get the chance to go to any bars, but I definitely recommend spending some time around the 'Old Town' which still has some of the walls surrounding it from the war days. There are some great places to eat traditional Polish food around there and it's pretty stunning. I seem to remember going for a healthy sized 3 course meal with a couple of pints for about a tenner. However if you are staying for a while it could be worth visiting Krakow in the south which is probably Polands most beautiful city. There are plenty of decent guide books for Warsaw though...

before defecting in 1946 to come to Britain, my grandfather fought there for the Soviet Union during the war, aside from Stalingrad, it was the worst place to fight in the war!
