There are no real hippies anymore the original hippies were total pacifists but some were a bit arrogant and self-righteous becoming that which they accused others of.
I knew a hippie who instead of going to 'nam did volunteer work at a hospital without pay. I don't question his patriotism because he always voted, paid his taxes and respected any opinion even if he didn't agree with it. He passed away a few years ago and i miss his wisdom even my conservative butt likes to hear an oppossing view because NO party has all the answers. I vote conservative first..party last. Fiscal matters before social matters. I do vote mostly republican but have voted for democrats who i felt were sensical.
But back to the question at hand i've ranted enough. I would never support a law sending people to work camps however i do support detainment centers for illegal aliens regardless of where they are from and terrorists. The idea of putting political opponents in work camps just feeds the flame of intolerance and is not in line with the concept of liberty.
"I do not agree with what you say but i will defend to the death your right to say it." - Madison or Payne i can't remember...

1 The 60's are over and most of the hippies cleaned up and became CEO or stock broker just look at ( Jerry Rubin one day hippy next day stock broker )
2 Leave the pony tail and patchouli crowd alone there kind of fun to watch go into melt down when there candidate doesn't win.
3 I was over at Haight & Ashbury in Sf the other day and the hippies are gone , they have been replaced by dirty kids with skateboards saying spare change .( broke , dirty & pathetic ) If they want to live like that let em personally keep a few around to remind people of what happens when you refuse to work .

probably not. Forced work camps have no place in modern society. Hippies are people too, Even though some are dirty, most are just doing their part to help the environment. They choose to live in harmony with Earth instead of raping it for modern conveniences. The should be applauded, not laughed at. When the resources here run out, what shall the over indulgent do then?

Point #1. They would absolutely love it! A work camp is pretty damned close to being a commune.
Point #2. Putting people we don't like in "work camps" because we think they are hurting our nation. Sounds familiar, Adolph.
Point #3. I actually think that there should be a 1-year compulsory national service for everyone. 1 year of serving the country in some way.

Why do you call hippies dirty!
And why do you think they should be sent to work in camps?!
Is this a slur on the baby boomers?
Because if it is you are slurring a lot of us!
All hippies are not democrat, all hippies are not dirty and all hippies must be better than you!
Get a life!

Yeah, along with the Zoot Suiters! Dude, it's the 21st Century.
Some of those dirty Hippies from the sixties are running Fortune 500 Companies now and most of the rest of them have three kids, three cars and a big house in the suburbs.
