If you pooled all the NBA players into a new draft...I'd take Lebron James #1. Next probably, D. Wade.

Since Basketball is the only sport were one man can dominate a game I would have to say Yao Ming is the Best player in the NBA right now. If you look back in the history on the NBA, only 1 team has one the NBA title without a legitimate big man and that would be Michael Jordon’s Bulls (which I believe the NBA wanted them to win so they changed the rules to allow them to win). With Basketball, being a team sport and not a one-man show I think Yao Ming is the best Center in the game today and can change a game like no one else. (Remember Wilt would score 50 points a night and the 76ers won 1 title under him scoring is only a part of the game, rebounding and teamwork are more important)

It really is hard to tell at this point in the season. If i would take a guess it would have to be D'wayne Wade. I had Wade but i must give him respect. I know you all are going to say well he has shaq, but remember he did take the heat to the playoffs the year before shaq came to miami. He has also improved his game every year since he began. Any of the superstars I deem as overated (including wade) because the NBA is a league that predicates and makes decisions based on its stars. They get all the calls from the refs. As far as all the overateds it is wade hands down.

That answer really depends on what criteria you use to determine "best". If you want the best statistical player, an Allen Iverson, Lebron James, or Kobe Bryant would have to be considered. If you're talking about a player that changes the atmosphere of a team, you would have to consider Dwyane Wade, or Steve Nash. It also depends on what team you root for. Everyone has their favorite player and team. In my opinion, I would have to say that Allen Iverson is the best player, because he constantly leads his team and the league in scoring, and he can change the tempo of a game. I hope that my answer is somewhat helpful.

Kobe Bryant is the best one-on-one player right now.
Lebron James is the most versatile player.
Tim Duncan is still the best post player in the NBA.
It's too difficult to pick a single "best player."

Its really between Kobe and Lebron James. Kobe In his first season back with Phil Jackson, Kobe Bryant put up one of his best statistical seasons ever, and that’s pretty impressive given his brilliant nine-year career. As the only legit scoring option for the Lakers, Kobe posted career highs in points (35.4) and three-pointers (2.3) while continuing to put up dominant numbers in almost every other fantasy category. The big fantasy attraction to Bryant isn’t his ability to score at will; it’s his free throw shooting. With 10.2 attempts per game and connecting at an 85 percent clip, there is no one that can control the free throw percentage category better than Kobe. Lebrons numbers from last year: 31.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 1.6 threes, 1.6 steals and 0.8 blocks per game to go with 48 percent shooting from the field and 73.8 percent from the line. The scary part about James' game is that it should still get better. He could easily become an 80 percent free throw shooter and if he decided that blocking shots was a priority, you think he couldn't pick that up as well? While it is more likely that he adds improved free throw shooting to his repertoire, James has the ability to do whatever he wants in this game.

If you average the rankings of statistical categories such as points, rebounds, steals, blocks, etc., it would have to be Lebron James with Tim Duncan and Dirk Nowitzki close behind. I would bet that if everyone currently in the NBA was put in the draft, Lebron would be #1.

At this point, either Kobe or LeBron, with Wade at #3. Also a healthy Duncan needs to be considered as well.
