My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for the past three years and we just found out that he has no sperm. The only thing they can do is a testicular biobsy to find out the cause and maybe retreive some sperm. Our only other option is a sperm donor. Has anyone ever been through this?

Hi, my husband are going through exactly the same as you so I know how you feel. 2 years ago when we decided to try for a baby, after a few months with no luck we went doc to get some tests done. We were told they hadn’t found any sperm in my husbands semen sample, he repeated the test and still none. At present we are waiting for his blood test results to see if its something to do with his hormone levels or if it’s a blockage of some sort. The diagnoses they have given it is azoospermia and I must have read every website on google about this condition. There are many causes for this, some treatable and some not. Just don’t give up hope, as hard as it might be there is always a way. Take a look at this website, it might help you understand a bit more about it: http://www.diabetesthyroidhormone.com/infertilityinfemale.htm. If you ever want to talk do not hesitate to email me and I will try and help you as much as I can. carrie8479@yahoo.co.uk

this might harm your marriage. a lot of married couples who have this problem (with the husband being infertile) and go get donor sperm to cover his problems, end up divorced. the husband can't take that his wife picked someone over him (even tho it was impossible for him to do anything about it...men). anyways. if you don't believe me, maybe you should after i tell you that i myself am donor-conceived and know many people who have had this situation. it's a very risky situation. so you have that counting against y'all, but also you have this: have you considered yet what the child will feel about being donor conceived? like i said, i'm a product of a sperm donor. i wish i weren't. am i grateful to be alive? of course, but if i could have been born any other way, i'd choose that in a heart beat. however, that's not my choice and never was. but i can speak for the majority of all of us offspring that we would all have rathered been born from normal circumstances and had a chance to know our fathers (and our siblings). i know that being born in this way is not how any child ought to be. it is hell growing up not knowing if every man on the street could be "him" or having to ask every person you date what their dad did in his past (to make sure you're not dating your half-sibling). and wondering about all your potential half-siblings out there is crazy too...

these are just SOME of the issues to think about with this...there are many more...

if you would like more information, please message me, as i can refer you to many more donor conceived people and give you resources on the results of donor conception

Hope your hubby likes needles, and yes, they're going to stick it in right where the action is, and deep at that. They can't use a local because it can damage the sample. Hurts like you wouldn 't believe, but I guess it's worth it.

BTW It's expensive on top of everything else. Good luck.

Never heard of that, I know men can have a low sperm count and it makes it harder to get pregnant. But none at all, that is a new one on me.

I once was with a guy like that... Weird situation. We didn't last long.

Looks like you may have to consider adoption, or a sperm bank. Good luck
