The Democrat operative Richard Armitage admitted to being the leaker. Nothing is going to happen to him because no crime was committed.
The Liberal press did very little coverage of it. That is why you didn`t know.
That is also why you see all the posts here of uniformed answers about Scooter Libby who was indited for an unrelated issue and had nothing to do with the outing.

It was discovered that the leak came from the State Department. It was Richard Armitage who made the leak.
The belief among the left-wing crowd is that the Bush Administration made this leak as a retaliation for Joseph Wilsons lack of support for the Iraq War. Outing his wife was seen as a vendetta.
This of course is patently absurd after learning where the leak came from. BECAUSE RICHARD ARMITAGE WAS VEHEMENTLY OPPOSED TO IRAQ WAR!
The reason you aren't hearing anymore about this in the media is because the whole theory that the left-wingnuts were relying on crumbled when it was learned that Armitage was the source! Why would an anti-Iraq war member of the administration out somebody's wife in retaliation for being anti-Iraq war?
So that is why you haven't heard much about it. It didn't fit the theory of the liberal media, so THEY just dropped it.
Scooter Libby is being investigated NOT FOR THE LEAK ITSELF. He had nothing to do with it. He lied about some of the issues surrounding the leak. The OUTING OF THE CIA AGENT CAME FROM AN ANTI-WAR MEMBER OF THE ADMINISTRATION.
If anyone should be arrested, it is Richard Armitage. But because he was a known anti-Iraq war member of the administration, nobody is calling for his prosecution. It is more important to liberal wingnuts to prosecute Scooter Libbey for covering up the leak (because he is a neo-con) than to prosecute the actual leaker themselves (because they are anti-war).
Hypocrisy at it's best.

No crime? That's debatable. The Republican prosecutor found a scapegoat and let everyone else off the hook (exactly why he was appointed) . The statement that she wasn't undercover is false and gets constant repetition by Limbaugh et al. The fact is that what her job was is still classified. We do know she was undercover as an "energy analyst" for a front CIA company -- and she was monitoring nuclear weapons development in Iran and elsewhere. If she was just a desk jockey, why is the info still classified? To protect OTHER undercover agents.
Armitage gets let off because he said "Wilson's wife" and tecnically, that wasn't "naming" her. Kinda of BS legalism if you ask me.
Plame and her Husband have a pending civil suit against Rove, Libby, Cheney, Armitage, etc.
Edit: Man some of you are so of you full of crap...the charges against Libby haven't been dropped. He goes on trial in January 2007.
Edit 2: I guess a lot of people can't handle the truth and love to repeat lies.

The person who let it slip confessed. And she was not an undercover agent, she was a desk jockey. So the law preventing the disclosure of the identity of an undercover agent doesn't apply. Especially since Joe Wilson outed his wife years ago on the Washington circuit.
Armitage refered to her as "Wilson's wife", the reporter knew it was Valerie Plame.

I'll add to notme. The reason Armitage has not been charged is because there was no crime. The investigator himself said no one could be charged with leaking Ms. Plame's name, because she did not fit the legal description of "covert". In short she was a CIA desk jockey, not a covert agent.

Scooter Libby was indicted for lying about something. This turned out to be the Scandal That Never Was.
Richard Armitage admitted to being the leaker, and that was very disappointing to liberals, who wanted it to be Karl Rove and Dick Cheney. Armitage was, you recall, a strong opponent of the Iraq invasion. That little twist wasn't anticipated by Mr. and Mrs. Wilson.
So, when will the liberals apologize to Karl Rove?
Oh, and the only person who ever called it "treason" was Keith Olbermann, and maybe some of his agenda-driven liberal friends. That doesn't make it the law. Learn something about the intelligence business.

It is treason, if you reveal an undercover CIA. And see, there's the rub.
