there are also pediatric icu's

The Intensive Care Unit is used for patients who require extensive care for many reasons. Major injuries like head trauma, major illnesses, the early stages of coma, etc... Anything that would require 24/7 monitoring and emergency care, or anything that you could die of in a split second and they need to be able to handle it on site.
