I would do a little research and make sure it's from the Titanic. and not just a Titanic Story. Doesn't matter how old your mother was whomever gave it to her could have lied. Find a Jeweler that will check it and date it and see what type of Jewelry it is, It may just be junk and then again it may be the real thing I wouldn't trash it. if you don't want it give it to a Museum or sell it

I care a great deal about the Titanic and it's passengers, and I think it'd be selfish, not only to the person to whom it once belonged, but your mother also, if you "trash it". If you wish to preserve such a piece of history, and the memory of those poor souls who perished on the Titanic, ether keep it in a safe place, or pass it to a museum where it can be seen and loved by many, as it most likely would've been adored by it's previous owner/s and those who saw it.

... It's not up to me what you do with it, however, I beg you not to throw it away. It holds sentimental values for people both past and present, and by throwing it away, it's disrespectful to those people... myself included. Please treat it with care and respect, that's all I ask.

Thank you.

If This Artifact, after being evaluated is found geniune, then it could fetch you very good price, therefore I would suggest that you too should preserve it and then auction it at a reputed auction house, that would attract genuine buyers to your item.

Just keep it going man and pass it on I'm sure your mother would'nt want you to exchange it for money... in the end that's not as valuable as keeping an object that probably meant a lot to your mother.
Give it to your daughter.

donate it to a museum as this way it will be safe from theft and damage but will, in a way, still belong to you. im sure some local museum would really appreciate such an artifact, if of course it is genuine.

Should fetch a good price on E-Bay. I would do research on.
Have you ever watched the antiques road show?
Provenance and documentation are a big help.
Take you time.
Do your research.
Don't get swindled.
Do you know the name of the people she worked for?
I am not antiques guy.
But I do watch the antiques road show alot.
GOOD LUCK!!

That could be worth A LOT!! but in all decency it should be returned to the decendants of its rightful owner.

You should just trash it. Their is no point in keeping it. All it does is take up space and maybe your husband really doesn't care about it. It's just more mess to keep tidy.
