I just bought the Sims 2 yesterday....?

And I was raising my child, but when it came time to have a birthday party it turned into a "disaster" as the computer game put it. I had invited people to come to the party and everyone said they would come but no one showed up. What did I do wrong? Is there some sort of extra strategy I was supposed to do here? I bought the cake.

Also, how do you make a baby with two people? And I'm not talking about when you create a family. I know in Sims 1 all they had to do was kiss. Is it the same way? Because it's a reward in their aspirations...

Good Party Strategy:

Always have music on!
Always put food out, like on those long tables and don't forget tables!
Make sure bathroom is accessible!
Put balloons out and around!
Have a hot tub!
Put some games out!

Cheats:

After hitting ctrl+shift+c at the same time type help!

Baby:

You have to use the option Try For A Baby! You can do it in a car(nightlife), bed, or hottub. You can have twins. They have to have a high relationship!

Sometimes the number of people who can come to a party is limited by the speed of your pc. Other times it is because your relationship score with the people that you ask is not high enough.

Making babies, eh? With a high enough relationship score between them, get one of your sims to relax on the bed. Get the other sim to relax on the bed too. Wait a few moments & when you click you should get the option to 'try for a baby'.

If you don't, it may be because your female sim is too near becoming an elder. (Get the rejuvenation potion & make her younger)

The other place that you can make a baby is in the love tub - that you buy with aspiration points. Get your two sims in it & start interacting - the option to 'try for a baby' should come up if your sims are young enough.

well the peoplpe probaly didn't come b/c u weren't good enough friends wit them. u have to be at a certain point like friends or best friends for the people to come to the the party and put on music so they r entertained while at the party it will make the guests happier.

and about the baby u have to do it in bed or in a hot tub or elevator ya and then it takes a couple day before she gets pregnant and then the baby comes or babies i kno have to have twins if u want the cheat

to have any successful party, everyone needs to be happy, not hungry, comfortable, not bored and such...to make a baby, have the male and female couple get into bed to "relax" Only if they are in love, you click one of them and choose "try for baby". after trying, if you hear bells, she got pregnant and you should have a baby in a few days...if you didn't hear the bells, keep trying...
