That really depends on what aspect of theatre you plan on going into. If you are going into acting the resume with the headshot will be good, if you plan on going into anything else, you will need more. I graduated from the theatre department at Mount Union College 18 months ago, so if you would like to message me with any questions on it go ahead, Ill help you as much as I can

A headshot and resume are the standard "calling card" for actors on the audition trail.

You could do your multi-media thing, but...who do you think is going to take the time and trouble to look at it?

Then again, I'm assuming that you're a performer. If you're a designer, then naturally you'd want some kind of visual representation of your prior work.

I think this depends on the type of theatre work you are interested in doing. If you are doing any type of design work (costumes, make-up, lighting, sets, properties, etc...), I would STRONGLY suggest photography all of your work. If your going into management, you really just need a strong resume, possibly an internship, and strong references.

If you are really only into the acting side of the arts, I would get a few great headshots, that are clean (not cluttered, and draws a focus to your face, revealing that special something you have to offer) and attach it to a well organized resume.
I would like to add however, if you have any interest in film and TV, it would be a good idea to start to put together a tape or reel of your work.

What is the standard for the city where you live? If you don't know, ask your actor friends or acting teacher.

In New York City the standard is a one-page résumé, stapled to the back of an 8x10, black and white headshot.
