humm i boggles the minde. i have and artifact from the r.m.s titanic that was handed down to me by my mother before she died she told me that it was given to her by a very rich family that she use to work for and all i have of them is a photo of their kid. hum. the artifact in question is a type of jewlgy that according to my mother was once own by a survivor of the r.m.s. titanic ? and yes i still have it in my possection but i thin i'll (1) trash it, (2) give it away (to some musem or (3) keep it for my little girle who is only 2and 1/2 month old

i say save it for your daughter shell love it when shes older shell think you gave it to her because its valuable and that its special because her mommy gave it to her and treasure it for ever

Please clarify, an artifact from the Titanic itself or a survior? Those are two different things.

Sounds like a family heirloom that should be kept in the family, not trashed or sold. I would suggest to put it a safety deposit box for safekeeping, but get it appraised first for value and insurance purposes.

Any type of historical object is a wonderful treasure! You should cherish it and teach your child about it's history so she will grow to cherish and treasure it as well.

On the other hand, you can wait until Antiques Roadshow comes near you, get it appraised, then sell it for huge bucks -- LOL -- okay, not really, but I LOVE that show!
