Hi,
Well usually your service provider will have some kind of facility on line where you can plug in your user name and a password on your service provider's website and it would let you know your usage. In the ab sense of that you could always download a bandwidth monitoring software which runs in the background of your computer and monitors and logs your daily Internet usage. There are many such available to download, a personal favourite of mine is Bandwidth Monitor pro and can be found here:

Everything that you use will go into upload download usage.
And not only that add 20 % of what you use to the MB.
In the background windows will be checking the latest updates, virus definitions,... etc. That too will add up to your MB.

software is available to count the total MBs you have downloaded and uploaded. you may gate such softwares from PC Quest magazine CDs.
dataone is charging for uploading also. some ISPs are charging only for downloading.
