I would write my number order down before the game starts, possibly using numbers personal to me birthdays etc (for no other reason than to have something interesting to say to Noel!) I would also write a figure of what I would be happy with, nothing less than about £20,000. I would also write down whether I'd swap the box at the end or not and stick to it.
This way if you mess it up and come away with nothing you can't beat yourself up saying "if only I'd picked that number first" etc or "if only I'd gone with my first instinct".

There can be no tactics picking which box in what order because it is just a game of chance based on how many boxes are left, the amounts inside the boxes are irrelevant.
The game to an extent is judging at what point you accept the offer and that boils down to judging the odds of what's left and how you feel about taking a risk.
There is a little bluff to be had with the banker but only the first few offers are his, after that a computer takes over with a mathmatical calulation so he is really out of the equation.
The show has been running a long time and everyone has tried diffrent things from ex bookies, psychics and even the ones who pray but nobody has won the £250,000 yet.
I think the main reason is the ones who got close bottled it and took the offer.

You can sway the banker to get increased offers by being respectful to him. Other than that, it's all down to chance.

I would keep going until the banker gave me a big offer and then I would quit and take the deal

I don't really think you can have a plan for the game it's pot luck. Are there any sceptics out there like me who suspect the independant adjudicator (the only person who knows where the money is) could also be the banker?

There's no tactics you can use for this show. Don't get me wrong it's a good show and it's different. But it's basically pure luck it makes laugh how people take their time to choose a number to which box they wish to open. There's just no way can you influence the outcome of opening a box.

It's all basicially random, but I'd do something like:
1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 9, 18, 14, 15, and 22
The first 5 are perfect squares.
The sixth one is 25-16
The seventh is 9+9
The eighth one is 18-4
The ninth one is 14+1
Then I'd go with whatever gut instinct happens next.
EDIT: On the american show anyways.

As it's sheer luck and the banker sometimes lives up to his rhyming name, it's nothing much more than pot luck, and all these "feel the vibes" merchants are nothing than bullshitters.

That show is just all about luck...I do not think there is any strategy other than knowing when to quit. We watch it all the time and we think the best is as soon as you have less than 2 big numbers, you better fold.

This is the worst show of the century. It's all about how stupid you are to not walk away with anything the bank offers. I think i've watched it twice and i got so bored both times i turned it before anyone won anything.
