I bought my daughter a walker which she won't sit in. She has all kinds of fun but the toys she loves most are the wooden spoons and plastic bowls. I have a friend whose son did the same thing. She's 7 months and crawling and not interested in toys. I don't know if she's crawling yet. Shes more interested in whats on the coffee table!! LOL None the less the books say to save them they will want to play with them later.

Check out online at target and amazon to see which toys have the best ratings of customers who bought them. I bought my son the kolcraft tiny steps walker with mini maestro- my number 1 toy in the house. It folds flat, has a large tray for snacks/drink, removable toy with 2 options of play-music or sounds when you press the buttons, converts to a walk-behind walker, has brakes, has a bounce option (but dont expect it to bounce like the jumperoo thing) love the colors/print too. And toys that encourage whichever development milestone will be next or soon for her. Im planning on getting the fisherprice activity wall, since I know he is going to be crawling soon and he can pull up on it too when hes ready. Multipurpose toys are great!

A walker/activity center would be good. My daughter is 5 and 1/2 months old and she loves her activity center. She has the Sesame Street 2-in-1 activity center. It starts out as an activity center that the baby sits in and can play with all of the toys attached to it. Once they begin learning to walk, it converts to a walk behind walker they can hold themselves up with and push along.

Books never go out of style.

If she's 6 months old, I'd definitely go with board books. She can turn the pages and chew on it, but it won't damage the book (at least, not like a regular book with thin paper pages would be damaged).

I prefer the classics...Are You My Mother, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Goodnight Moon, etc. Bright and colorful with varied pictures to keep her attention while you're reading to her. Might not be full of bells and whistles and light up and play music or flash or teach her Spanish, but reading (to my knowledge) never hurt anyone. :)

lol, I love the way you said the question. Tickled me.

I am in the same position you are. My son will be five and a half months. I am thinking a walker or bouncy seat. Seeing as how they are still a little young for toys.

babies tend to be more interseted in the boxes the toys come in at that age, trust me, i've recently gone thru it. my son just turned 1 year old. a walker or a saucer/bouncer would be good for now. and general baby toys they can start experimenting with, stackable rings, those blocks that you can see thru that have cars, animals, etc. inside them, a soft toy piano....anyhting with lights and music or noise.

Go to the infant isle, and look for anything with lights and music. At that age babies are fascinated with lights. My kids would sit there for hours watching the lights.

Leap Frog has a lot of good things for babies... Try to look in that section at Wal-mart and you'll probably find something good..
