A big sister present....hmmmm...Do you think she may appreciate a baby doll or cabbage patch kid. That way she can be like you and take care of her baby too!

Both my kids had thier heads down "in position" the whole time. They both sat low and that made for very bad back aches. But anyway, yes the head can get into that position at any time. It's good news. Some don't get into that position until right before. Then there are those who aren't in poisition when it's time and have they have to be moved manually or a c-section...so you are lucky!

Best wishes!

Yes it is time for the baby to get into position and just remember that you can have the baby 2 weeks before the due date. As far as the present let her make her own big sister shirt with paint or buy her a baby doll and tell her to practice on changing its clothes and diapers so that she can be prepared to help.

you can get the 5 year old a tshirt that says "worlds best sister" (wal mart or kmart) Or you could make one and personalize it, put her name and the babies name on it,and have her wear it at the shower and when she comes to visit you to see the baby for the first time. make sure you talk to her about how important she will be to the new baby, and dont worry she will fall right into the big sister mode. my oldest is 19 months and he has a little brother who is 5 months and he is the best big brother! he brings the baby bottles and binkies and give hugs and kisses (under supervision of course!)
and about the babies head being in position, yep this is totally normal. my kids were in position when i was 6 nd 7 months, they both were low and came super quick when i went into active labor. believe me, the baby being low in the birth canal is good! congrats on the new baby!!

Get her something she wants, nothing extremely expensive but if you get her something like a doll or a big sister t-shirt she may feel left out because its all about the baby. I just went thought this with a two year old!

That is very thoughtful of you. There are t shirt out there that say "Big Sister". Maybe something similar, you can include a t shirt for the baby that says "little brother or little sister" if you know the sex of the baby.

You could get her own baby. A doll with diapers and a bottle etc.. so she can take care of her baby while you take care of yours, then maybe she wont feel so left out.

get her either a Big sister Dora.....or one of the new Baby Alive dolls. it will kind of go with the theme of being a baby shower.

Get her a necklace. Maybe with a locket. Some times you can find lockets that say sister on them.
