No, if you concieved August 22, you got pg in August, not July...Its not even possible.
The average fertile window is only about 3-4 days around ovulation (the first few days before Ovulation the day of ovulation and for good measure, the day after ovulation since in IVF cycles, doctors are able to monitor the lifespan of an egg and it is viable for 12-36hrs after ovulation)
So, if you concieved August 22, the egg probably implanted a few days later since implantation does not occur as soon as the egg is fertilized.

The doctor could be wrong. It happens all the time. The EDC (estimated date of conception) is just an educated guess based on the facts you provide such as first day of your last period. Some women do not have regular periods which confuses this issue. Some women even have a light period after they have conceived which also confuses the picture and obviously puts the EDC a month later than it should be. The EDC is often adjusted as the pregnancy progresses due to the date the first heartbeat is heard or the date of quickening (feeling the baby move) occurring earlier or later than expected. An ultrasound further along in the pregnancy also can lead to adjustment of your EDC. That is why the medical term in your records is ESTIMATED date of conception. There is no way to tell the exact date of conception for 100% certainty unless you have only had sexual intercourse one time. If you had more than one partner within about a month of each other and are concerned about paternity only a blood test done on the baby after it is born and the potential father will answer that question.

Didn't the doctor tell you August 22? If you conceived August 22 then you got pregnant August 22. The definiton of conceive is to become pregnant with (offspring).

Conceived means "got pregnant," so it didn't happen in July. If August 22 is your date of conception (the date you got pregnant), that is the date used to calculate when the baby will be due.

no. most likley it was 22 august that you got pregnant. conception can take up to 9 hours after sex. you could only have got pregnant around the 21-22nd depending on what time you did the deed.

He's basing it on your last menstraul period of August 8 (which could have just been implantation bleeding). Was July the last time you had sex or did you have sex with another guy in August and you're just not wanting him to be the father?

Doctors have to estimate the date based on either last period or ultrasound. If the date is calculated from an ultrasound it could be about a week off either way but not much more. If it is from information you gave him on your last period this obviously depends on how accurate your information was. Try this website
