Its necessary for the person to have married Its made compulsory under the Hindu religion that a person must marry or else he cannot complete his life in full. Even in the Hindu religion the great Adi Shankarar was likely to be get defeated in the word quarrel bcoz of not knowing that about the marriage life his soul went to the kings body and learnt about the marriage life and come to his body and he won it. It is essential to have peace and hormony till death so we need the marriage because the wife or the husband can act also as a friend to whom we can share everything what we need to share.

Marital life in my opinion is something beyond the relationship of the two individual bodies. Beyond all that they share in the physical level, there is a realm of spiritual relatedness. If you are able to discover that relatedness to each other in spirit, there is no other relationship nobler and greater than marital life. Peace and harmony are not guaranteed till death in marital relationship. What is important is to understand, accept and support each other through the course of life together upon earth. Marriage is NOT essential for a man/woman for peace and harmony till death. I would say, if you are looking for peace and harmony in life, better do not marry. But if you mean living together other than a married life, I doubt how long that is going to take you towards peace and harmony. Physical attraction dies off after a period of time. In a marital relationship, there are possibilities of discovering a relationship that goes beyond physical attraction and holds you together even after the physical attraction dies off.

Marital life is an ideal situation for most people. You have a built-in best friend and lover with the intimacy of shared experiences and confidences. It allows you to feel safe and secure, yet helps provide boundaries. It's pretty much a no-brainer if there are going to be children, as raising a child on one's own is certainly beyond difficult and seldome very successful. Marriage for the right reasons and with fidelity and cimmittment is an ideal and perfect state of being.

I love being married, I just had my 6 year anniversary a couple months ago. We don't have any kids yet but I am wanting some. It is interesting that you mentioned "till death"...I am sealed to my husband for all eternity, through the power of the Priesthood in the holy temple. I am so glad he is my eternal companion!
