Lets say its 3:25 now.
5 minutes ago it was 3:20 which makes (4 times 5 many minutes) past 3.
Now if it is 3:25 now then its 155 minutes to 6
(35 min 3:25 to 4 + 60 min 4 to 5 + 60 min 5 to 6).

The correct answer is 155 minutes. 5 min. times 4 = 20 min.
20 min. after 3 o'clock plus 5 min. gives the current time of 3:25
therefore it would be 2 hrs and 35 min. till 6 o'clock which =
155 min.(2 * 60 min. + 35 min.)
The person who thinks the question is supposed to say 50 minutes ago needs to go back to school and learn A) how to tell time and B) how to do simple addition and subtraction. 4 times 50 min. would be 200 min. past 3 o'clock which is not a time and if you break the 200 min. into hours it would be 3 hours and 20 min. plus the 50 min. to the current time would make it 7:10. Therefore it would already be 70 min.(1hr 10 min) past 6 o'clock or 650 min. (10 hr 50 min.) till the next 6 o'clock. Either way the answer they give of 26 min. is way off.

5 minutes ago = 4 times as many minutes past 3 o'clock
=5minutes / 4 = the number of minutes past 3 o'clock
1.25 which is = 1 and a quater seconds
which is equal to 1 minute 15 seconds past 3 o'clock
.
. . minutes to 6 o'clock = 6: 00: 00
- 3: 01 :15
minutes to 6 o'clock = 2 : 98 :85
= 218minutes 85 seconds to 6

i assume you mean by four times, fours time 5 minutes, gives you 20 minutes plus the extra 5. Meaning the time right now is 3:25. Which means thier is 2 hours and 35 minutes till 6. Which translates to 155 minutes.

6:00 - 3:00 = 3hrs
3hrs = 180mins....
180 mins / 5 = 36mins...
36mins x 4 = 144mins
144mins = 2:24
3:00 + 2:24 = 5:24
5:24 + 5mins = 5:29
6:00 - 5:29 = 31 mins.
31 mins until it is 6:00.
