Hopefully a cold one. I think with the hot summer and the unnaturally mild autumn we have had we are due another cold winter.

Mild winters are not healthy, cold winters kill all the germs.

Many people in the UK believe that the UK’s Met Office warned of the coldest winter for many decades, if not since 1740. They did nothing of the sort.

Last autumn, the Met Office issued a winter forecast which warned that there was a two in three chance of the coming winter in southern parts of the UK being colder and drier than normal, which means, of course, that there was a one in three chance that it would not be colder and drier than normal. The Met Office’s warning was seized upon by the media (newspapers, radio and TV) and exaggerated into a scare story about the winter of 2005-6 being exceptionally cold.

A statement clarifying the winter forecast was issued by the Met Office on 28 October 2005, long before the winter began. To read the statement, click here and please do not omit to follow the winter forecast link, which provides more detail.

Well obviously it will be the warmest ever because the media and Al Gore have hyped global warming to the point that any self-respecting planet would oblige them. The ice caps will all melt, every glacier on earth will thaw, and on Ground Hog Day Mr. Phil will have to shave off all his hair, palm trees will start growing in Northern Canada and your Christmas presents will be delivered by a sun-tanned Santa. And if nothing else there will be enough hot air puffing out of the Chicken Littles who are pronouncing gloom and doom due to excessive carbon dioxide that their hot air alone will raise Earth's temperature this winter to the point that penguins will migrate north to Palm Springs. So throw away your snow shovel and get your boogie board because with the oceans rising several feet you'll have surf as far inland as Omaha. Oh woe is me!!

I'm afraid not!!! according to the met office. No snow for Xmas only wet weather with above average temperatures. The cold spells will come in Feb.

I love the cold frosty days were you can snuggle up on the sofa, heating on full blast drinking a nice mug of hot chocolate !!

I lived in Scotland for 8 years & it was lovely to see all the snow on Christmas day, the kids out with their sledges, little ones with their parents building snowmen.... Me I love it, shame we dont get winters like them !!!

At least here,in Romania, the winter came sooner than it should have normally comed. It is november, and it already snowed! This is something very unusual and I don't like it at all.Especially that in spring, there are very big and dangerous flods.
