I believe he is racist. He was stating the George Bush hated black people because there was nothing been done to help the black folks in New Orleans but New Orleans does not only have black people they have all different backgrounds of ethnic. Now if George Bush said Black people hate White people, he would be called racist.
It's always been an issue, sense there was slaves back in the day. Now if you are white and you say something negative comment like that you are automaticly called racist. But if a black folk told you that he is not called racist by people.
So people need to stop saying he is not because he is, and he is setting a bad example. He is ignorant saying that, if he commented about saying that George Bush is not doing anything to help the people in New Orleans, I would have agreed. But with his statement it is wrong and sad. He does not look like an intellegent person saying does kind of things.

No, I seriously doubt Kanye West is racist.
I'm assuming this is coming from him saying George W Bush doesn't like black people. Well... he doesn't. Most politicians don't. Thats not just opinion... its been that way since our Government was established.
When he made that statement, he was speaking on the hurricane devestation in New Orleans. It took entirely too long for anything to be done to help the people out there. And, from all the media coverage, it was obvious that most of the victims in New Orleans were black. That doesn't make him racist. He was just stating his opinion.
And being that George Bush isn't worth sh*t anyway, I don't understand why anyone would care. OH YEAH... its because a black guy said it.

Kanye West is dumb and likes to draw attention to him self. I don't agree with anything that really comes out his mouth.

I don't think Kanye is a racist, he is expressing his own personal opinion. I believe it was not the right time or place to do so. But never the less it was his opinion.

No, I think he's great. He made that remark that Bush doesn't care about Black people, which was brave of him. He spoke out, and he totally wasn't supposed to do it. You could tell he was nervous and choking with emotion. I thought it was very touching, and too bad most people don't have his guts.
But, I think he should have said Bush doesn't care about people - regardless of color. It's not as if the working class Whites in St. Bernard Parish had it easy, either. Almost the entire area was under water, and they had to wait weeks before they got help, too.
It wasn't as bad in some ways, because they weren't crammed into a small confined space, though. And, I think Kan ye West was right to some degree regarding the race issue. I think the first response providers were scared to go in to New Orleans because of the violence. But also because of assumptions regarding Black people. I don't mean the workers themselves, but the people who were in charge.

I don't think he's racist, he's just ignorant and has an inflated self-image. He's a brilliant musician, but that's about all he's good at, and he hasn't realized that yet.
It's astonishing how many musicians or actors think that they're qualified to become political analysts just because they're rich or successful. Kanye is no exception.
