squareroot(x^4 y^3)

write it out in terms of squares like this so it is easier to see what can be siimplified:

squareroot(x^2 x^2 y^2 y)

now you can see that there are two x^2 and one y^2 with y left over:

(x^2)*y squareroot(y)

you can factor out all the pieces and then simplify:

sqrt x^4 * sqrt y^3

which is:

x^2 * y sqrt y = x^2ysqrty
