Yes, if I only think of getting toys.
No, if I think of celebrating Christ's birth.

Before I had my daughter at 34, I felt the same way as you. Now my daughter is 7 years old and every Christmas that I have been lucky enough to spend with her (7) have been the funnest, most enjoyable, most memorable Christmas's of my life. Seeing Christmas through my daughters eyes and knowing what I know from lifes experiences combined together are what Christmas is about. The spirit of giving is also such a great feeling to have. To share love and times with friends and family at the holidays are things that should happen all year long. The world would be a much better place.
Do you have children to share Christmas with?

I love Christmas and its not about age, maybe that's why your not excited anymore ,your not looking at it for the right reason its not just about gifts, i don't want anything this year, i just love the joy -the music, the busy sidewalks, holiday cheer, i can't find no other season of the year when the world seems so happy. pop in a Christmas movie, walk through the malls and just find a place in your heart&maybe a kid or two and see christmas through there eyes, and maybe you will fell the spirit again. I hope so b'cause this is the most WONDERFUL time of the year.

I still love Christmas. When I was younger yeah I loved getting gifts, but who doesn't. Now, I get so excited waiting for Christmas so my parents can open up their gifts from me. I used to get my nephews that I see often gifts, but not anymore. The youngest (3) of course didn't know better but the oldest of the two who is 8 always seemed ungrateful and didn't even read the tag that it's from his "Aunt Amy." It's not all kids that think like this though. When my other nephew was that old (he's 11 now) I got him a present and I was watching him open up his presents and he looked at the tag and saw it was from me, looked at me and smiled, then opened it up, and thanked me without being told to I guess it's how their raised or something but now it's more giving than recieving now that I'm older. I'm 23 and don't get me wrong, I like recieving gifts but I love giving them out more. This year, my parents are the only ones on my list.

It may not feels as magical but I I don't let not being a kid get me down.
I enjoy everything I can about it. I do the best I can to be enthusiastic about it. I watch shows, read stories related to Christmas, enjoy the music. decorate the house madly. I am in retail and I enjoy watching everyone shop. Especially the Grandmothers, just fills my heart with joy.
I hope you can get the feeling back.

Then I must be a kid still. I still can't sleep, get butterflies, etc... the night before Santa comes. My favourite part of Christmas morning in the stockings. All of the adults still get a stocking and every thing in that stocking is wrapped to make it last longer. I do enjoy the smiles and laughter from my kids too. It is the one time of year the "magic" of the season takes me away from the problems of adult life. Merry Christmas!

I'd be more enthusiastic if Christmas didn't seem to get earlier each year. It's only just turned November and the stores have been full of Christmas cards and decorations for weeks, and I've already heard Christmas music played in stores too.

I think that it is too commercialized and that people miss the true meaning of it. I love to decorate and bake cookies, but to me it is so much more.
It is going to church on X-mas Eve to fill 4 pews with my family, while we pray for those not with us, singing Silent Night during the candelight ending of the service, getting together at my Grandma's after to stuff our selves silly with great food while playing cards and cracking jokes, it's X-mas day dinner with 63 people all in the same house, catching up and enjoying each others' company, it knowing that we are all safe and warm in our houses while also remembering those who are not.
You need to look deeper into it, past the presents. Maybe then you will get into the spirit.

I did last year...this year I'm focusing my energy on my daughter. We're also sending a box for Operation Christmas Child to make one kid happy. I find Christmas is better when I do for others.

How old are you?
I am 18 and the thought of Christmas feels my little 18 year old heart with glee and anticipation.
Plus I get to go home and see my family for a couple weeks.

The good part of Christmas, to me, is the original pagan tradition of family and sharing, celebrating the positive aspects of winter as it starts to set in.
The gift-giving, once something personal, has become crass and commercial, and those whining of those pretending Christmas is somehow exclusively Chrstian is getting rather annoting.
