my neighbour has two cats they are repeatedly pregnant she has litter after litter . my sister in law and i have both given her a number of a place where she cn get the cats spayed for nothing as she is on benifit. We both think it is cruel what she is doing these poor cats end up having kittens every 10 weeks as soon as a litter is born the cat is pregnant again straight away. Is there someone we can report her to.

The RSPCA should know about it. I knew a woman like that who had so many cats that I am sure that some of them must have gone hungry. She had food in the house, but I don't think she had enough for all the cats. All my cats are spayed and neutered, as is my dog. It is better for the animal to be done, and it is unfair to allow a cat to have litter after litter. After a while, it will take it's toll on the cat's health. If they really care for the cats-they would have them spayed. Then what about the other cats? She must have quite a number.

The rspca / cats protection league / PDSA? etc will not do anything about this because she isn't doing anything she shouldn't be with regards to animal welfare. If she keeps all of the kittens then you could report her to the local council on the grounds that she is causing a problem with the number of animals which she has. Unfortunately, your neighbour has legally provided sufficient care for the dog because she has asked for someone to look in on it several times a day.

In an ideal world she would realise what she is putting this cat through but in reality, unless she is keeping a large number of animals in the house in unfit conditions, it is unlikely that anybody will do anything about your problem!

It is possible that she allows this to continue for financial gain if she sells the kittens, which may explain why she has refused your advice of free medical attention for the cats!

I'd contact the RSPCA for advice. Some people are so irresponsible they shouldnt be allowed to have pets at all. If someone wants to adopt a kid there's all sorts of hoops to go through yet any lunatic can own whatever and how many pets they like. I'm not comparing kids to animals so dont all go mad, I'm just saying, perhaps peoples suitablilty for owning a pet (especially a dog, which takes quite a bit of responsibility) should be in some way assessed first. Social workers wouldn't be long taking a child from a parent if it wasnt looked after properly so perhaps the same should happen to certain pet owners.

Hi unless there is real cruelty involved there is very little you can do about it...If they were neglected in a way that they were unfeed & unkept then maybe the RSPCA would look into it...

However you can contact the RSPCA & remain anonymous to the lady in question as the RSPCA will not tell them who called them out...

I would if you think they are neglected call them & see what they say...

They do have to come out & see then if you report them no matter what...maybe they could have a word with her & get her to see reason & get the cats fixed...

If she is breeding cats then the Environmental health can come out & see her due the fact that she might need to have a breeders license to be able to breed animals for sale...the law is quite strict on breeders licenses & getting even more so...

Regards Jake

Go straight to the RSPCA, because it concerns animals they have to investigate a complaint, they will then assess the house and the cats living conditions and if poor they will re home the cats. One cat is bad enough never mind hundreds, can you imagine the smell. Hope your sister gets paid for going in her house. Good Luck and get reporting girl.

I am sure if you get hold of the RSPCA they may be able to advise you on what level of action they can take against this irresponsible person.....if not, why not try your local council, think it may the environmnental health dept, but if you phone the main general enquiry line they should put you thru to the correct dept...another avenue you could try is the cats protection league...certainly this problem needs to be addressed for the cats and the dogs sake...you can do this confidentially too. Good luck and I am glad you care x

Im guessing you have the been given the number of the PDSA but i suggest you call the RSPCA if you feel the conditions the cats are born into are night good. You should just call them for their advise and see what they suggest you do

rspca arent always that helpful, if youve tried organisations and they wont help i personally would take the cats then put them in a cat protection shelter, i agree its awful and whether on benefits or not its not acceptable, it cost about 25 quid to get a cat spay
i once found a cat with babies in a hedge rspca told me contact cat protection, they were no help. another time found an injured bird rang rspca they asked me to take it 30 miles to them told them i had no transport they said couldnt help then, your local independent animal charities are best

The RSPCA or the Cat Protection League. They are in Ireland and I am sure there is something like it in UK. You have to do msomething. The cats have to be neutered. Both of these societies will neuter for free or for a small donation if she genuinely has no money for it. Please do something
