Because the polls point to democratic victory...notice how many think the polls are fine today, since they indicate a slide back towards republicans? I guess the ones that favor republicans are true, and the ones that don't are rigged. Just like the elections...

Because they are. Why have most polls for the last three elections all pointed to major Democrat victories; and each actual election ended with a major Republican win?

The main problem with polls is though they claim they are derived from a large, diverse sample set; the pollsters never tell the exact numbers of the type of persons called and their locations. E.g., how may people from New York City and San Francisco where called versus how many from Texas and Missouri?

The other problem with polls is when they report percentages of people who are in favor and against an issue, the pollsters never report the actual metadata that was used to determine the percentages of for and against. Without knowing the exact questions that where asked, the context in which the questions were asked, and the ordering and progression of questions asked, you cannot tell if a poll is an honest one or was contrived to trick people into answering questions that support the desired outcome of the pollsters themselves.

Moreover, most polls are conducted by the media. The whole point of the media is to manipulate people to support the given viewpoint of each media outlet. Therefore, why would you not expect polls to be bias?

Generally they are biased to one side or the other. The way the question is asked is very important. Who is asked is very important. How they weight the answers is very important. Polls are statistics and statistics can be easily manipulated. For example, do you really think either party is going to ask question that reflect well on the other. No. So the poll comes out and the party says "see, americans disagee with you."

Polls are politics and we all know about politics.

Because they are. One way or another. It depends on the question asked, the percentages of the different parties represented. Democrats should think this too.
