Applying fake lashes is best left to your makeup artist or salon professionals, but with a little patience and practice, you too can master this art. So don't try it five minutes before leaving to a big party. Ardell and Andrea lashes are great and they are available inexpensively at the drugstore.

Keep a piece of paper handy to hold the fake lashes. Using a tweezer, dip the base end of the lashes into the glue, then place the lashes as close to the baseline of your own as you can, filling in wherever you want the greatest impact (generally, the mid to outer lashes look fabulous in false lashes). Press gently, but firmly with something blunt. Hold the lash in place for about 5 seconds until the glue has a chance to hold.

Let the glue dry, and then apply a dark eyeliner to camouflage the line of the fake lashes and then apply your mascara. The mascara will help blend your own lashes with the fake ones, and make your eyes look fuller and larger.

Additional fake eyelashes tips: Your eye area is very delicate. Take precaution not to rub your eyes unless necessary. For lash removal, apply some eye make-up remover, such as LashFree Remover, to your eyes and let it soak in for several seconds to soften up adhesive bond. Take a corner of the lash band and gently pull off the lashes. For more precision, use a quality flat-end tweezers to pull off the lashes.

Cleaning and Storing tips: You can reuse your false eyelashes provided you keep them clean. After removal, take a pair of flat-end tweezers and carefully pull off any additional glue. A toothbrush or moustache brush works great for cleaning between the lashes. Store them in the original container. Original container is also great as lash travel case.

put all your eyemakeup on FIRST. Make sure you put black eyeliner on your top lid, as close to the lashline as possible, so there is no space between the line and your lashes. put just a little blk mascara on your real lashes, just a little. take the false lashes (put a litlle strip of eyelash glue on them if needed) and place them on your eyelid RIGHT next to your lashline, on top of your eyeliner line. make sure the inner and outer corners are sticking all the way down. You should trim the lashes if they are longer than the length of your eye, but cut off the end that goes at the outer corner of your eye if you do this (do this before you put them on!). let the glue dry if needed. put a littlle more mascara over your lashes and the fake ones, to make them blend together. ta-da!

its tricky to get them in the right place on your lid at first, but just go slow, it gets easier.

Great advise from people. I've had great success with "Duo". It's the eyelash adhesive from MAC. I think it's like $10 but worth every penny.
