To use an analogy, it won't happen until we (Americans) hit "rock bottom" just like the addict in recovery. We're getting close however. America's "American Idol" mentality doesn't help matters either. It's time for concerned citizens to organize at the grass roots level and stand up to these corporate and political whores, Power to the people!

Feel free to work on whatever issues you think are important and allow me that same freedom.
And not many people get up in the morning and ask themselves "What can i do to maximize the profit of my employer?" They do ask themselves "What can I do to better my life?"
Perhaps if your 'real' issues were focused more on what Americans think will better their lives then it would be your perfect world.
