How much per day is the average house in the S.E. (UK) supposed to increase in value?

Is it preferable to put money into property, or to have it in Building Society?

Into Propery, my house has increased in value by 65k in 3 years, Id never get that kind of money in a building society unless I invested hundreds of thousands.
