A guy I work with has a 1971 Monte Carlo. He was wondering if a 1970 Monte front fender and door would bolt up to his 1971 model.
He asked me but I'm a chevelle guy and don't know about the Monte Carlos. I did check Year One and the Goodmark catalog and didn't find anything out.

The 70 fender will need some work to fit on the 71. It has a different mounting point on the radiator support. The bolt and pin for the headlight extension are also different. A 71-72 fender will fit with no problems. I have a 70 Monte and there are many 70 only parts. The door will fit with no problems, but he will have to hold the door handle button in to lock it. 71 up you could just close the door to lock. I own a 1971 Monte Carlo (Custom)... and have had a 1972 Monte Carlo (stock)...

All first generation Monte Carlos (1970-1972) can interchange just about everything but the Front Bumpers, Grills and Front fender extensions. Since they differ just slightly from each year. (Position of turn signal lights.)

The fenders may need to be shimmed a bit to get them to fit better when you reinstall, so keep that in mind as well.

Hope this helps...

Yes it will work. The only difference is the appearance but not the attachment. A 70, 71 & 72 will all match up. I've had all three versions and did some mismatching with various parts. The guy that helped me rebuild my 72 taught me a lot. Now when you get to using parts from a 73 & above you won't find many that will work because they started changing the measurements.

I've ONLY owned Monte's and now have a 95. My next ride though is a Harley.

The 1970-72 Monte Carlo's were in my opinion the best era of the Monte Carlo's, I also liked the 1973-77 Monte Carlo's but they made them too big and they weren't very powerful, after that was when they went downhill.
