When I was on holiday this summer in Scotland I went to the Island of Muck (I may have spelt that wrong if so Sorry) it is on the west coast. It was the hottest day in record in Scotland 30C. We went to a beautiful white sand beach where we found a number of cows some of which were a paddling in the sea with us. Very odd. So, yes I do believe they like to be beside the seaside, in the sea.
Thanks

The nearly complete skeleton of an ancient aquatic mammal with legs has been unearthed in Jamaica.

The 50-million-year old skeleton is one of the best examples so far of the evolution from a land animal to an aquatic animal, said Daryl Domning, a paleontologist at Howard University in Washington, D.C., who reported the discovery.

No I dont think they would feel at home on sand, they are grazing animals so they would want to be near good grass. Also the noise of the waves would spook them.
