Most definitely. It would be a shame if the child collapsed and died on the field due to an undetected illness or defect.

I am in full support of this. I have had several physical exams for softball and i miraculously passed them all, but a friend of mind who was really into sports went in for a physical and was checked into the hospital an hour later for test. She was diagnosed with Lupus two days later. Thank God that she had to get a physical because Seven softball innings in the sun could have killed her.

I think it would have to depend on how old the children are. If we're talking four-year-old tee-ball, I think it would be a bit extreme to make them take physicals.

After age ten is when children should have to take complete physicals, I believe.
