in very high doses in the beginning of pregnancy some times it can cause miscarriage. it is used to cause early herbal abortions some times.... although the amount of vitamin c needed to do this is toxic even to the pregnant woman...and often causes the woman to get really sick and show signs of poisoning. http://www.sisterzeus.com/vit_c_ab.html

I doubt it. Vitamin C is a water soluable vitamin which means the excess (anything your body doesn't use) is secreted. With vitamin C this is probably in your urine. Some vitamins are fat soluable and can build up in your body. Vitamin E is an example of a fat soluable vitamin. I don't know if an excess could cause a miscarriage though. It's best to take a prenatal vitamin and eat normally when you are pregnant. Follow a basic diet with some added calcium and protien.

More than 1000mg(100%) of vitamin C a day, everyday(try 2000mg +) can induce a period or a miscarriage. Too much vitamin C depletes copper (triggers pink eye/eyelid irritation) and other necessary nutrients(so it actually aids in the absorption of iron). all of which can be good if you're anemic or diabetic type 2, not so good for liver or other diseases. where-as caffeine has not been shown to cause any problems what so ever besides an accelerated heart-rate when you drink more than three cups of Strong coffee in a day. Balanced diet people. Fruit and a few cups of coffee aren't going to harm anyone!

Sometimes (but only sometimes) very high levels of vitamin C can cause infertility and miscarriage.

I have never heard of this happening, but you could always as your doc. I wouldn't think so! It's another vitamin that is important to you and your baby. But like all things, never over do it!
Although, with this pregnancy, anytime i drink oj or eat oranges, the baby comes back and says NO WAY!!!! She must not be a fan of it!! Too bad, that's what i crave!!
I don't know if you added on to the ? yet, but why what makes you ask??

I have never heard that one but I would assume that if you take any vitamin in a very high dosage it would not be good for you or an unborn child.

Honestly... the answer is, Absolutely Not!
You can take an entire bottle of vitamin C and not overdose. Your body gets rid of the C it doesn't need.
This is true, ask your pharmacist.

No, in fact one of my cravings was orange juice and lots of it. I even bought the kind that was fortified with calcium so that I was getting enough calcium because I was drinking orange juice for every meal.
