I have just set up a myspace account, how do i get different backgrounds etc? preferably free!
Please give REALLY simple, step by step instructions, i'm rubbish with technical stuff!

search trough different profiles, some who use things from the internet have links on their profiles for the sites.

If you're not into technical stuff than rather than programming html yourself you should search through google for myspace layouts or myspace backgrounds. Copy and paste the code into the about me section of your profile editor.

Myspaceoryours has been my favourite place to get nice layouts (backgrounds). Here's a step by step of what to do once you are at the site:
-Browse Myspace Layouts (on left side of screen)
-Pick a category of layouts to view
-Preview layouts you like
-Click 'Add This To Your Profile'
-Copy the code they provide
-Go to your myspace page, edit profile, and paste the code in your 'About Me' section
-Preview your page

If you want good layouts and things go to www.freeweblayouts.net and then pick a layout, then copy the URL and go to www.strikefile.net once there just go to the myspace page editor (i think its version 4 now) and paste the URL into the background image section and continue to edit your page! have fun!

go to google
type in free myspace backgrounds
this site is pretty good:http://www.mspremade.com/
click on the background you want
there will be a box with words and symbols (the link)
click in the box and hold on your keyboard ctrl + a (this selects the whole link)
then hold ctrl + c (this copy's the link)
go to your myspace
go to edit profile
in the about me section push ctrl + v (this paste's the link)
then save changes
go click on home
go to view my profile and see if it works...

Couldn't tell you, after a couple days, I completely gave up on myspace as a waste of time.

go to a myspace website that carries profiles. suchas http://www.createblog.com/ then pick a layout you want. It should give you a long long code.higlight all of it and copy it. then sign in into your myspace and go to EDIT PROFILE. where it says about me paste the code there.be sure its all of it. then click on SAVE ALL CHANGES. view your profile and it should work

search for myspace backgrounds, or layouts...i've never seen a website where they ask you to pay for their stuff but i guess there could be...the best one i go to is http://www.createblog.com/layouts/index.php?type_id=3 or whateverlife.com....just get the code from the wbsite...go to your home screen (on myspace) click edit profile...and copy and paste into your About Me section then click save changes...

visit another my space that has really good backgrounds and they will usually have links that say where and how they got these, click on that. When you get there copy and paste the HTMLs from the link to your profile editing page,GOOD LUCK

Go onto http://www.glitter-graphics.com/
Choose a background or layout and below it should show a code which you copy then paste on your "edit profile" and then paste it in "About me"

There are several sites you can use to change the background. I used www.freeweblayouts.net it is pretty simple. It walks you through the prossess pretty easily. If I can figure it out anyone can!!!
