Depends on the age. In my twenties, a nice piece of jewelry even if it was simple gold earrings. In mylate teens, MONEY!!!!! In my thirties, things become more sentimental and it depends on the relationship the giver has to me. Friends need only give me some of their time doing something fun, Parents only need to give me assurance of their health and their love, children only need to give me their cheerful insights on life, and siblings a little bit of the wit and wisdom they have learned as they grew older. Now if it's my better half...He better do something that makes me feel like the most important person in his life, even if it is to clean the dishes and treat me to dinner (accordingly to how much we can afford, the effort of the day's work to make me feel appreciated on my special day is worth more than any material thing)

I'm a shop-a-holic, and very fussy about what I like so gift cards to my favorite stores are always loved! I'm not exactly the person you are buying for and I don't know what her intrests are, but a nice romantic dinner is always nice, it's not the value of the gift, it's the heart you put into it. If you spent some time and decorated a room with rose petals, candles, etc..and created your own romantic atmosphere she would be wow'ed that you went through all the trouble for her. You could make her dinner if you can cook, or just rent a movie and have wine and snacks. Just tell her how special she is! :) Good Luck!

im not a materialistic girl.. but the most thing i really appreciate is a gift that is unique, something which cannot buy in a store or in any other part of country(hehe, just exaggerating but true).. in my birthday, he gives me a charcoal painting of my own face which he was the one who made it. very sweet, and there you can see the effort.. but if you arent that creative, just give or do something that is unusual and would really surprised her.. something that you havent done before but only to her.. like what my brother also did to her gf, he blindfold her gf and took to a specific place, then when the blindfold was taken off, his gf finds themselves in the middle of the field, with lots of lighted candles that wrotes big "i love you" and a heart shaped candles.. and that was done at night.. it was so romantic.. oh, anyway, i was there hiding, hehe, i help my brother arranged those candles.. its good that its not that windy.. her girl even cry because of so much happiness, she never expect that what she can only see in the movie can also happen to her in real life.. anyways, just think of it.. its not expensive but too much appreciatve.. and i also hope it would happen to me someday... even not on my bday..

First I would want you to learn how to spell - my Bday is Tues - I'm getting my hair highlighted, a tanning bed package, my nails done, new shoes, going out to dinner and most importantly a BABYSITTER!! I got an engagment ring last month so I don't mind not getting jewelry for my bday but I wouldn't mind getting ear rings to match the ring!

me personally would like to have a night out on the Town, with that special one, and then maybe have a small get together with close family and friends.
