I have called my teacher a lot of things, mum or mummy being one of them. There's no reason to be embarassed, it's just because your around your teachers in one week more than you're around your mum in one day. Also, some teachers act as if they are your parents, or have your mother's personality. Trust a girl that has done it to every on of her teachers in only 8 years of school!!!:) * make that nine if you want to include kindergarden

good teachers who love the young people they teach, love that attention. Let us all remember for a teacher it is a job that pays the bills but for most teachers what they get out of that job is helping the kids they teach. Teachers are just human (as opposed to what most students think) and they respond to your kindness just like everybody else.
I am sure the mom comment to the teacher made her day and they hear other comments all the time.

I haven't but when I was teaching preschool I had a couple of kids that would call me mom on accident, sometimes in front of their moms... I think its because they see you as much if not more than their mom, and the associate things you do similar...
