Omigosh...I hope so. I am not sure what replaces it , but a system that is designed for rampant consumption is just not what is needed in an overcrowded, polluted earth.
It doesn't do much for the poor either. Children, born into poverty, are not to blame for their situation and deserve an equal chance to realize their potential. This system was perfect for the development and modernization of the western world. Now it needs to change or we are all sunk.
Did I mention that it also breeds corruption? (okay, so does anything that remotely involves humans).

Not this year!
And i'm quite sure it never will. No matter how much you love it or hate it, those with money will always have power and power comes from capitalism (money!!!). Its a catch 22 situation!
Without capitalism, much of the world would fall apart, literally! Our very daily lives depend on it. Without capitalism we would be in the same economic state that 3rd world countries are today and WE'D be being exploited be a capitalist nation.
It's an ugly world, but unfortunatly theres always an underdog. Only this time David don't have a chance to defeat Goliath! Because Goliaths wearing the Capitalism3000 Rock Defender Helmet with Patented Rock Shooting Lazer-Beams!

As long as there are people who want to buy things -
- extravagant, useless things, like computers -
And as long as there are people who are willing to supply those things in exchange for money -
There will always be a capital market.
The very fact that you can ask thousands of strangers on this paid service your question, is a sign that capitalism is alive and well.

First of all capitalism is not a living thing so this "life" you speak of means nothing.
Capitalism will always exist as long as there are smart people making more money than alot of others.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah life is good !

I think the opposite is true. China is moving toward capitalism. Vietnam is going to break out of socialism next. As old commies die out and the internet expands bringing new ideas to these countries, look for more capitalism and competition to heat up. Its a beautiful thing.

as long as there is one person in the world that believes in capitalism there will always be a capitalist and so capitalism will never truly come to an end until every one in the world abandons their ideas of personal greatness and works towards the betterment of humanity

I suspect that sometime in the next century that will be the case, but it will be forced on us because the Earth can't sustain it, certainly not while there are such huge numbers of homo-sapiens looking to live the good life.
We should be looking to provide fewer people with a better standard of living, rather than having to try to firefight famine and the like, because there are ever more of us.

of course not. it is entering a boom period. china, russia, india are now all capitalist market economies and the us is working on the middle east ( i think they have no chance ). i wish that something could replace capitalism but there really isn't anything that works. i would like to see us all becoming more sceptical capitalists. reject global brands in favour of local specialities. think about the consequences of our consumption before we do it and make environmentally friendly choices. support industries in our home nations wherever possible over lowest cost offerings from china and india. but none of that will ever happen either.

No, I think you might have to wait a couple more decades to see capitalism be replaced by any other organisation of our social economical model.
But this only is my point of view.
