Both. A lie is a lie. If you don't get the whole truth you are being lied to. Sometimes people tell partial truths so you will believe them entirely, they will even say stuff like hey I was honest about blah, blah, blah. A lie of omission is still a lie.

There is no gray yellow or blue here. Its either black or white. You can't have any color in between. A lie is a lie, there is no half, one third or one fourth of a lie. Once you add in your own part to the actual story, you're lying.

Same.There is truth and there is everything else. Truth is always and completely the truth. A fact mixed with a little lie is just a lie.
