I bought one on Ebay and it's coming from China. I was wondering how good they are. And do they also look junky ? cuz a lot of stuffs comin' from Chine appear to look too rubbery and cheap.

Archos makes pretty good ones, except the model I have (AV420). Whatever you do, don't get that model!!! The recording processes are really confusing, the music doesn't index correctly, and the menu navigation is tedious at best.
That said, the AV500 or the new 604 models are fantastic mp3 players and act like DVR and video players. They are a bit more expensvie, but the have removable batteries, huge 4.3" screens, and have direct-from source recording options. The 604 even has a kickstand.

well, i need a specific brand. Any mp4 player under $US150 should be considered crappy. If it's designed in China, it should be considered extra crappy. Too bad for you. I dont know if Ebay has an return policy. If you want an mp4 player, try ZenVisionM or Zune. The iPod video can't play video very good. U should check out some Archos products and ZenVisionW. They have a very nice screen but there're big and bulky.

it depends on the brand ipod is the best they usually last at least a couple years if you don't damage them with water or to hard of pressure
