I could easily shrink the jumper as I manage to do it to mine all the time (put it in the dryer and forget about it). Jeans I'm not so sure about..... you could shrink Levis years ago by sitting in the bath with them on, you could try that I suppose.

I tried to shrink my jeans on a 90 degree wash it didnt work! If you wash your jumper on anything hotter than what it should be it will probably shrink but not nicely it will probably go all out of shape and look nasty.

you can shrink a woolen jumper by putting it in the washine machine and you can shrink jeans by putting them on a really hot wash then in the dryer.

The problem with shrinking them is that they will shrink in all the wrong places. Can you not take them back to the shop for the right size? If not sell them and buy the correct size. When wool shrinks it gets this horrible feeling about it and isn't soft anymore, I don't advise it.

Washing will help with the shrinkage. Clothing mfg. stretch fabric when making clothes - when you wash it - it causes the fabric to return to natural state. The hotter the water the better.

Also drying your clothes will help with the shrinkage. It is not the dryer heat that causes the shrinkage - it is the tumbling action of the dryer that will help it to shrink. (the heat can actually make the cothing stretch out - just remember it is the tumbling action for shrinkage).

Be careful - the drying process can damage fabrics made of natural fibers such as cotton, linen and wool, if too much moisture is removed.

These fibers have a natural moisture content, even when they feel dry (with cotton it's 5%; with wool as much as 17%)

Wash them in hot water and put them in the dryer. I hate the thought of what it will do to the wool jumper. You could end up with it only fitting a very short girl.

Hot wash then tumble dry. Beware though, the jeans are likely to shrink more in length than any other way!

put the woolen jumper in a hot wash, as for the jeans (it's up to you) put them on and get into a hot bath for about 30mins - 45mins and they should shrink to your size?
