I'm pretty sure I read that this is true. Also that people have more heart attacks at this time. They are under more stress. I'm bi-polar, and in the winter, I'm usually depressed, this I can deal with, I'm disabled. But when fishing season comes, I go into full blown mania, this is the worst. It is very dangerous, as I am unable to sleep more than 3 or 4 hrs a night for 3 months or so. We have been able to manage my meds better, recently. But you can't work due to beeing late, or absenteeism, and you are forced to go on disablility. I had a great job, and I have many other medical issues, but when the seasons change, my sleep ability changes, and the mania is the hardest and most dangerous issue to deal with. It was much worse when I had to work. I tried suicide twice, but it was in the summer, after months of very little sleep. People who suffer from depression have it much worse during the winter, and at Christmas, I have read. Working, finances, and family add to the stress. I had it so much worse when I worked, I was first sent to the hospital and diagnosed in January. I had an episode at work, and I was suisidal then, but I spoke about it, and when I was put on lithium, that was the first time in my life, I ever felt normal. I can't drink any caffein, or I'd be bouncing off the walls. I could never control my intense emotions. Since I live alone now, I'm in a safe and conrolled environment, that helps a lot, and can't work, and go to councelling every week, and have good medical insurance, and good meds, which always have to be changed, it's better. I'll never try suicide again, because my councelor has made me realize I do have gifts to give to others. But I so much can understand why poeple do this, to stop the pain, they think will never stop. They don't mean to hurt their loved ones. They are just in a living hell, which others could not understand. In the mean time, health care cuts keep coming. I was just very lucky I had good insurance, which most people don't. I'm so blessed, that I didn't die.

As a new child of a suicidal discern, I even have study up on suicide and melancholy. and that i faound that throughout trip journeys and spring the suicide value will advance dramatically. They theorize that everybody around them is happy and would not understand that ther is not any wish. The season is going against each little thing they experience and think of. female, 30.

Yes, especially for those people who are lonely and don't have that many family or friends to spend the holiday's with, they get depressed and they may even start drinking or taking drugs and probably overdose or drive carelessly.

Yes, because there's so much pressure to be happy. Also too much pressure to make everything perfect. My ex-mother-in-law would get so upset she ended up in the hospital two years in a row. (I have a feeling that part of it was wanting some sympathy and attention though. You have to know her.)
