sometimes, but i usually only remember the feeling that i have in a dream. Sometimes i remember the actually remember the whole thing though. I remember a really long time ago, maybe when i was 3 or 4, a dream i had about scary clowns. they were creeping up the stairs up to my bedroom. I remember standing at the top of the stairs with my mom. and for some reason my small cousin Nicole(who i didn't like) was there. Nicole fell down the stairs and was eaten by the clowns. My mom then said, its okay it was only Nicole, i was so happy, but then the clowns reached the top of the stairs, and then i woke up.
A recent study shows that when you don't remember your dreams, you are going through the day in your mind. They actually put a rat in a cage, recorded its brain impulses, and then put it to sleep, and then again recorded it's brain impulses. The rat had the same impulses when it was asleep, as when it was awake moving about his cage. They believe that that is the same thing that happens to people when they don't remember their dreams. That's why it's important that people get enough sleep, because that's when you work out your problems.

I only remember dreams if I awake suddenly. I cannot remember the last time I had a dream which I remembered.
However, there was a time when I was studying for some exams. I stayed up all night and had about 1-2 hours sleep before the exam in the morning. I awoke in the morning with this marvelous feeling of having solved a problem that I never knew even existed. I did quite well in the exam, and slept for about 12 hours afterwards.

I usually just remember bits and pieces of them or, as you say, for a split second, or not at all. Sometimes I can remember that I had a crazy dream of some kind, but can't remember what it was about. I wish I could remember more. I have had some very vivid dreams that I do remember but for some reason those are usually the bad ones.

I do not always remember my dreams but there are some that I still recall from childhood etc. I guess it depends on your state of mind at the time. Some dreams disappear with waking whereas others stay with you for a long time.
As a child I used to try to pick what I would dream, by concentrating on the given subject before going to sleep and that sometimes happens as of today.
I believe if a dream has a significant meaning it will stay with you.
My son in law never remembers any of his dreams so maybe it's an individual thing for each of us.

Yes, quite a lot. I tend not to sleep too deeply, or to go back into a snooze in the mornings and that's when I have my most vivid dreams, these are the ones I tend to remember. They do fade fairly quickly, but if I think about them when I have just woken up that can help them stick. Recently I have been having a lot of quite disturbing dreams that involve the sea with huge waves and myself or others being swept in and under - rather odd.
If you want to remember them then keep a pen and pad by your bed and write down what you can as soon as you wake up.

Just recently I have been worried about this I have always had very strong dreams, which have been very vivid.
Then I stopped remembering any dreams at all a few months ago and wondered why this was. I have written on my blog about a dream that changed my life in 1980 and have always put store by them, and tried to work them out. So I miss not remembering them

Everyone dreams - about 2 hours a night. Remembering your dream depends on when you wake you up. If you wake up just before the dream ends, you tend to remember it, if you wake up after, you dont. A, previous answer is correct in saying you can be trained to remember them, and even be able to change them (used in cases of those who have frequent nightmares).
Some people are luck and will regularly recall their dreams, other never do. Like you I'm in the latter category, and rarely recall details of a dream.
It really doesnt matter - just enjoy your sleep!

I very often remember my dreams after I wake up. I had one the other night that I was being chased by a load of police all around where I live and then I ran around this corner into the middle of an armed seige where I surrendered to them and when it came to what I was being arrested for I woke up. I have this one quite often, I really should find out what it means!!!

I very rarely do--when I do, though I've usually figured out a problem or gained information that is helpful when I am awake. I think alarm clocks are part of the problem--I only remember dreams when I wake up on my own.
