Hey people, I am very worried about my application process. I scored 730 on my math , 590 on my CR, and 670 on my writing section on my SAT 1 test. Do I have any chance to get into a prestigious university????? :( I want to study science, not literature or something like that.. Do I have any chances for a major in Engineering at Macalester, for example?? Thank you all!

The SAT is only one component - your GPA, your course load (colleges lend more weight to higher courses and/or courses that are relevant to your intended major), and how well you fill out your application are also very important.

With your SAT scores, you should be fine, however, if you feel you can raise your scores by better than 100 points, then by all means, retake the SAT.

Also, you don't lose anything by contacting the college's admissions department and asking questions and showing interest.

Contact the school or school that you want to attend. Ask Admissions or the Counseling department. They will be able to give you the best and most accurate answers.
