Yes, there is a problem called " gay bowel disease" caused by insertion of objects into the anus. It is caused by tearing of the bowel wall because the anus is an exit not an entrance. This problem can lead to serious health issues in later life.

Yes, and so can heterosexual men and women.
Yes, there are "heterosexual" men whose wives penetrate them.
There is an inherent danger of some serious "bowel problems" associated with penetration unless it is does lovingly, patiently, and above all, gently.
Once accustomed to the act, the potential for problems decrease.
For those who get into "fisting" and other non-organ penetration, having worked in a large ER center for many years, I have seen young men end up with loss of bowel control, wounds that resist healing, and more times than I like to think about, colostomies.
But again, this can happen to ANYONE, not just "homosexual" men.

I don't think so, unless they're engaging in some pretty extreme sexual acts - the same ones I see heteros doing to each other on a lot of porn sites.
Think about it. If you can pass a big huge log outta your a-ss.....well...ummmm....it seems that it'd be no problem to accommodate a penis. As long as the person is ready for it. If that is forced on someone, yeah, it could damage them if someone is very rough and has a large penis. Tearing, etc..... Probably not permanent damage in almost all cases.
I think the same could happen in vaginal intercourse, though, right?

Sure they can, just like anyone else. If you're eluding to anal sex and associative problems, that can also have a factor. Not all gay males have anal sex. This is a stereotype that should be broken. There are lots of other ways to show your affection for one another. My partner of 13 years and I have found a plethora of alternate ways of affection which men can utilize. Yes.

Sure, it's not a sexual thing ordinarily. despite your worst fears, I am a nurse, and can tell you that any person can have bowel troubles.

Well first not all gay men have anal sex, and second some straight individuals do have anal sex.
Anyone who has anal sex risks some problems like perforated bowels, anal fissures and hemorrhoids.

yes, my girls best friend is gay and has to occasionally fast and "clean out" himself. Size, thrust, and other factors contribute also. Women have the same issue with anal intercourse.
