After new recent events, some muppet on the jeremy vine show, radio 2, claimed the cop should have been exposed after the first kill. what does he think this would do for the security of our police force? Every nut case in the country would be looking for him.

Im glad we have these trained guncops looking after us, what do you reckon???

I completely agree! This man was doing a job. Menezes shouldn't have run off. Armed police don't come looking for you for expired work permits or whatever it was. It was a very tense time for everybody on the aftermath of July 7th bombings.

I believe the police and that police man involved were doing what they deemed necessary to protect us during that tense time. He is an armed policeman. What do people expect! that gun that he carries is not for decoration.

I disagree with exposing one guncop when there are others who blundered in leading to Menezes' murder.

However, the police force cannot be given a "slap on the wrist" due to the nature of the case: cold blooded murder. Why? The police followed him and all procedures from the book were ignored.

The police force should understand that we taxpayers pay for the law to be upheld and that they should enforce this within reasonable constraints. We don't want heroes, we want peace. We want a fair justice system.

In light of this a thorough investigation should take place and the suitable punishment delivered to the officers responsible. This is so that the mesage of peace is not ignored by the police force.

Com on lets face the basic facts, I'm not suggesting that the man who was shot got what he deserved!! He was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Lets put this in to perspective. Those who are out there slagging off the police for shooting this man, can you name any one of the victems of the London Bombings?

Sure it was awful what happened to him, but he shouldn't have been here in the first place.

Firstly, they are not "cops", they are Police. Cops is an Americanism used by the Sun, because its readers understand only one-syllable words.

Secondly, I can't see any purpose in naming him.

i agree, although i dont condone their actions of that exact day entirely. would we have said the same had he not shot him and then he did in fact have a bomb on him and blew it up. either way the way I think this cop is in a no win situation.

I think that shootings like this are very rare in the UK and that is why we hear about them. In the US they are ten a penny and I wouldn't want to end up like them. He was doing his job, it's not his fault the intelligence was wrong.

I'm still not entirely sure what he did wrong.

I though everyone had already worked out the problem was higher up the food chain?
