The answer is they don't specifically, they die all over the place.
In most coastal towns you can find dead seagulls in gutters, on the pavement or even fried to power lines.
The bodies don't last long because crows and jackdaws eat them A seagull spends much of it's time at sea, ie where it's food is found under natural conditions and may die whilst it's out there.
