I found it growing at the base of a hedge, in a grazed field close to an old house (in Ireland). It had leaves like mint and when I rubbed them it smelled lovely and minty. Leaves were green, rather that a blue-green. It had quite a woody stem - bit like a very big nettle. Was about 2 foot tall and had the reamins of a flower spike but petals were gone off it. Possible a garden escape but not sure.

It's mint but maybe not as you know it?- it may be spearmint - try to sniff it alongside some mint for cooking - if you haven't got any you should be able to get it in a supermarket - see what you think. Spearmint has a more pepperminty smell, but not strong like peppermint. Spearmint has green leaves and 'spear' points, a bit like a nettle, pepermint leaves are rounder and darker - but on the other hand garden mint does certainly look a bit like nettles as well - so - sniffing and chewing is the only way! (This is the second minty question I've seen today ...) Spearmint grows wild, it likes streams and shady places, but you're right, it could easily be garden-escaped culinary mint.

Definately a mint. Get an herbal book or go on the internet and look up motherwort. If it has a flower spike on top and in the leaves nodes, and a square stem., and the leaves are very triangular, it meets the description of motherwort. When in bloom, it will have purply flowers that form a cluster in the leave node but will look like it wraps around the stem. There will be these clusters at each node in the plant. If it does not have these features, the plant is still in the mint family.

each and each determination has reward, and down-sides. genuine flowers are a lot extra exciting to have interior the tank as they advance, reproduce, and supply the fish some thing to %. at. Biologically, they do away with some nitrogen from the device and bring oxygen for the fish. i know a few people who've tanks that are in basic terms thoroughly planted and have not have been given any fish using fact they get exhilaration from the planted component a lot. you are able to upload CO2, severe lighting fixtures furniture, and ferts, and change your tank right into a jungle in a remember of weeks. There are some massive down sides nevertheless. If ideal care isn't occupied with the water, flowers can rot, which could be poisonous to the fish. there is likewise various pruning with the fast growing to be flowers, which could be a hardship to a pair. As pronounced above, planted tank set united statescould be high priced, yet once you persist with low mild flowers which incorporate java fern, you may get by capacity of with the inventory aquarium kits. in case you do circulate planted, attempt java fern and java moss on the start, and make effective what you're procuring isn't meant for a terrarium. Plastic flowers are large considering the fact which you are able to set them and forget them. You %. out what you like and that's incredibly a lot it. they do no longer do something to income/injury the chemistry of the tank, and don't require any artwork (different than the occasional rinse). maximum fish won't care in case you employ genuine or pretend so it finally comes all the way down to what you like. to your daughter, i might advise utilising pretend flowers and upload in low upkeep genuine flowers using fact the tank matures (you are able to have the two). you may get an air pump, tubing, and an air stone for type of $15-$20, which will upload various oxygen to the water. you are able to desire to purchase adorns with air stones geared up into them and that they are incredibly cool besides. puppy shop workers not often know what they are conversing approximately while it contains aquariums, so do in basic terms the examine first and you'd be superb.
