to let me know when they have used the last of the cereal or laundry detergent etc, etc? It's frustrating to have just gone to the store only to come home and find we are low on something.

if it is something you don't use, then don't replace it until the culprit complains about the box being empty.

if it is something you use, buy an extra and hide it from the others.

I have a list of all the common household products that we use regularly and before I go to the store I check to see if I am going to need more of anything. I try to make sure I have enough to last me through the next two weeks, and if it looks like I am going to run out of something I pick it up. It's always better to be overstocked up rather than run out. If I find stuff on sale I will stock it up and know that I won't need any for a while. (I only do my shopping once every 2 weeks when my husband gets paid other than things like milk, bread, etc.) We very rarely run out of things.

I have a list on my refridg for when items are low. Have them write the item on there.
I usually stock up on most everything so we don't run out.
