To follow up on Reid would distract the public from what the Journalistic community feels is the paramount issue, proving that conservatives in general and republicans in particular are vile and nasty and not to be trusted.
Reid has huge issues. He failed to inform his senate colleauges of his ownership interests in 3 land deals, not just the one that made brief ripples in the news. He used campaign funds to pay personal obligations. He also filed fraudulent reports to conceal these facts. If I sign a tax return that I know is false I will go to jail. The doc's Reid filed all affirm that he swears the information to be true. He committed crimes.
I don't know what the IRS is chasing him over but I'd bet it has something to do with the fact that he enters land partnerships with millions of dollars of assets but he has no documentation to prove what his investment, liability or profits, or even who he's entering into partnership with. Again, if I conducted business in this fashion, the IRS would sieze my assets and tell me to prove that everything I had wasn't the fruit of fraud or crime. Yes, the IRS can and does do just that. Reid is receiving preferential treatment.

Because the media are over 80% Democrat voters, so they will never push a Democrat scandal beyond the minimum necessary reporting. And they will attack any Republican who tries to make a Democrat accountable for their actions.
Look at the attacks, harassment and viciousness of the media towards Ken Starr when he was hired to check into allegations of Clinton corruption.

Because it wasn't a scandal. He used a couple of grand in campaign money to provide holiday bonuses to the people who work in his apartment building. When he found out he used the wrong funds, he paid the money back.
The guy used campaign money to do a good deed for someone, he wasn't buying drugs, booze, porn, and hookers with it. How many people use their expense accounts to tip? Everyone. Same thing.
Bush lied us into war. Mark Foley comes on to children. Harry Reid is a big tipper.
No scandal.

Harry Reid is a democrat therefore it is a non story.
the MSM will do its best to cover it up.
Now if it were a Republican it would still be the lead even if we were being attacked by martians

The press is primarily democrats they protect their own. This investigation may take a while. Democrats are never responsible for their own actions. It is always a Republican conspiracy.
