Half of China probably does this and they don't seem to have much problem.

Only problem would be with your "windows updates" I reckon.

depends. if you have a company liscence or something that allows 2 or more computers on the same liscence. then nothing happens. however if you do not have that special liscence then microsoft can pick you up if you download any updates from them. because now you have to validate your xp liscence before you can dowload updates. so if you are using this method. only have 1 computer on the internet because the ip address is a big give-away.

I did this, and one day Bill Gates came round to my house and gave me a damn good kicking. He said it was totally unfair of me to cheat him out of licence money as he and his family were running a bit low on funds lately, due to the fact that his new software should have been making him billions by now but it was delayed by over a year. so things had gotten a bit bleak.

Nothing untill you try to get updates. Then you are in for a suprise.
Your operating system begins to act funny and slowly falls apart. All your com ports are disabled and the browser re-sizes so you can't get to the controls. It is no fun at all.

disable automatic updates on one of the systems.
you should get away with it.
I recommend purchasing a separate license in order to stay up to date with windows updates. Keeping your PC secure and healthy.

Not a lot.
MS's current anti-piracy tactic is shipping WGA with everything, and therefore stopping you getting updates or new MS software if you have a pirate system.
