Nothing, eat enough of anything and its bad for you. Yes, their food tends to be high in fat, sodium, etc. but they only sell what people are buying. If you don't believe me, remember the seaweed-burger, didn't sell.

I eat at McDonald's, once maybe twice a month; I eat at subway, about once a week.

The real problem is that people are in too much of a hurry and tend grab something that is fast, easy, and tastes good, IE fast food. On top of that when people are in a hurry they tend to eat more then if they sat down to eat. On the run you tend to eat faster and eat until you feel full, but by the time your brain gets the message that you're full, you've already overeaten. But if you take your time and eat a little more slowly your brain has time to get the message.

It is possible to eat fast food and eat health, you have to work at it but it can be done.

Me, I walk in to eat whenever I can, take my time. If I'm at a mall, I tend to go for Chinese, the lines are shorter and the food is better for you on the whole.

By the way, I've heard all the rumors about fast food places, KFC changing their name because they don't use chicken anymore, McDonalds using (blank) instead of beef. Rumor of rat’s mice, etc. being cooked up and served. And have never found them to be true. Think about it, why would a major corp. even try it? Think of the lawsuits. Look at the law suits now, McDs used a little beef flavoring in the oil and got sued, imagine if they used something other then beef, how much they would have to payout then.

Just my opinion

Its what mcd use to be. After that movie came out, mcdonalds stopped doing the super size. Now McDs can be blamed for people getting fat, or unhealthy. People just pointed the finger randomly at one of the fast food restaurants, and now McDs is stuck with it.
People blame McDonalds, and here they are going their five times a week! Which is how so many people get unhealthy or overweight!

Yes, let's start with number 1: can not process a special order which they call a grill order, CORRECTLY.
2. In most cases, will not allow special orders, the way you want it, if it's outside the normal way it should be prepared.
3. Bad, terrible customer service
4. drive through customers have precedence over walk-in customers. Heck, I took the time to come in and get slower service.
5. Refunds? what's that to them for incorrect orders.
6. aaaah, aaaah, I can't think of any more.

7 after looking @ some of the other answers fat **** confirms just what I was talking about no refunds, replacement.

There food is just not good for you. A better choice for fast food is subway(and other subs shops) other then that McDonald's really isn't as bad as the next fast food places. McDonald's is a treat not something people should eat everyday. If you eat it right then it really isn't that bad.

noting is wrong with Mcdonalds its just that mcdonalds is cheaper than everyone else and caters to everyone
they have low fat dairy products
chicken products
beef products
fish products
for vegetarians salads
they prepare the food that you want the way that u want
they even have a menu for the little kids in fish chicken and beef
they also cater to the persons with the sweet tooth
or those who wants a desert
as for the other compettitors i would say that they are jealous and they dont want to drop their prices.

Observe the amazing physique of the staff there as he or she comes to serve you at the counter with either a face full of pimples or a pair of spandex about to burst at the seams and tell me if it is good for you.

Fast food in general is bad for you, but you need to look for the "healthier" items on the menu like salad.
