If you don't like the status quo in Texas....then vote for Kinky Friedman!

4.4% unemployment is pretty good. Be happy.

LOL... The economy couldn't be better, but the media has everyone believing the economy has collapsed.

The headlines warn of dire flatline growth for the retail sector, but consumer confidence is at 117%.

The headlines talk about the stalemate passing a federal minimum wage increase, but wages are rising at the highest they have in the last two decades.

The headlines talk about the dismal interest rates offered by banks, but neglect to inform you that personal savings are at record highs since the 1950's.

And you leave out an inportant factor in the "fully employed" category, there are an estimated 15 million illegal aliens working in the US. The headlines tell you how they are causing a drain on hospitals and education, but don't say anything about how they pay taxes and are part of the reason the economy is doing so well.

The headlines are reporting that the Democrats want to roll back the tax cuts, which include the child tax credit and reinstituting the marriage penalty. They don't tell you how this will hurt the average american and have the double effect of actually decreasing tax revenues.

Thanks to this administration I was able to open my own small business with what I saved with the tax cuts, the economy is the best ever, unemployment is at its lowest. I couldnt be happier. I disagree with some things about bush but if the democrats were in office , I would be shirtless with tax hikes you wouldnt believe and I wouldnt be able to have opened a business and been able to support my family giving them the life they deserve...God bless america, vote republican......The democrats will claim the voting is fixed although 4 people from a democrat affiliated organization were indicted because of messing with 35000 registrations to vote, they did multiple registering and 1 was of a dead person.(this is just one town, imagine the nation) This is the confidence of the democrats that even the dead are pro democrats....come on...

When people stop looking for work, the government stops counting them as unemployed.(over 5 months ? you drop off the counted..) The real unemployment rate is closer to 14 percent. This does not count the fact that McDonalds is the biggest job creator in the US for the past 5 years - lots of Master's degreed folks serving up those fries.

As for the Dow, that all-time high is measured with the incredible shrinking dollar - the Dow can have one all-time high after another & in real value can still be shrinking.

Who do you believe about our economy .
All the financial analysts who have told us about the record number of bank defaults and bankruptcy fillings ,the 12% drop in home values ,the 80,000 auto workers who lost jobs ,the 10 million construction workers out of work , the slowing sales of fast food retail and other consumables or the lying cheating Bush administration . I know what you will choose to believe . You probably work for the government in some capacity or are supported by it .

dont forget, the DOW JONES Industrial Average is at its ALL TIME HIGH!

ohhbother- call the "waahhhhmbulance", the only concerts the dixie chix can fill are those in canada with all the french loving america haters up north. They had a right to say what they wanted to say, albeit an ignorant stance. and their largely conservative audience had the right to be disgusted and stop buying their music. Thats capitalism and the freedom to choose. maybe they should have just shut up and sang.

Sorry, dum-dum. But wages are stagnent. And with housing and healthcare dramatically higher than they were under Clinton, the average American is far WORSE off under Bush. Last quarter Americans created more DEBT than savings, the first time that has happened since the GREAT DEPRESSION....Bush created FEWER jobs in his two best years, than Clinton did in his two WORST years.

Bush blows.

The best way to spread your ignorance is to form a top selling country band then insult your fans and then complain when they no longer buy your albums.
